All taxis are fitted with the latest technology including:

 

  • Fitted alarm systems for driver safety;
  • Security cameras;
  • Satellite navigation; and
  • Remote control booking acceptance.

 

To be eligible to apply for an Authority to Drive a Taxi Cab you must:

  • have held an unrestricted driver licence issued in any Australian state or territory, for a total of at least 12 months in the previous 2 years;
  • hold an unrestricted NSW driver licence;
  • are an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa allowing you to work in Australia;
  • are at least 20 years old; and
  • are medically fit to drive a public transport vehicle.

 

To become a Bailee driver with the Albury Taxis network the following training is compulsory:

  • Observe with an Owner/Operator – minimum 4 hours;
  • Despatch Training (SmartMove) – 2 hours;
  • Local knowledge test – 1 hour; and
  • Driver skills test – 1 hour.

 

Upon completion of your induction you will receive:

  • Two free Albury Taxi shirts;
  • Two free pairs of pants;
  • One free set of Albury Taxis epaulettes;
  • One free Albury Taxis jumper;
  • One free Albury Taxis shell vest or long sleeve jacket;
  • One free pair of socks; and
  • One free Albury Taxis Cap.
